A Czech sailor who built the boat — and is now qualified to race it across the Atlantic.

Milan started on Czech waters, then moved through Ireland, New Zealand and Brittany, developing both as a sailor and as a builder of high-performance race boats. That combination is central to the project: this is not a polished story searching for substance, but a substantial project presented with clarity.

He built his own carbon Mini 6.50, won the French Mini class championship, and spent the following years working and racing inside leading offshore programs across Mini, Figaro, Class40 and IMOCA. In 2026, that experience became Ocean Call: a new Class40 now on the water, christened and ready for the final approach to Saint-Malo.

The build is complete. The campaign is alive.

Ocean Call is a new Class40 Mach 40.6, designed by Sam Manuard and built at JPS Production in Brittany. The boat was completed in five months, launched in July 2026, registered as Class40 #216 and christened before her first serious offshore miles.

Milan then sailed 1,200 nautical miles solo on Ocean Call to complete the Route du Rhum 2026 qualification. With that milestone behind him, the focus is now on tuning, training and arriving in Saint-Malo ready for the 1 November start.
